Love the site and have used it for years to measure road bike rides.
Lately I have been using it more and more to plan routes for new mountain bike trails. The elevation tool and manual measurement make it easy to design a sustainable trail.
However, I find myself having to switch back and forth between satellite and topo views and trying to correlate the two. It would be very handy if I could choose a view that had an opaque satellite view in the background with a semi-transparent "Terrain" view over the top of it. This way I could follow contour lines and keep track of roads, etc...
I could see this being useful for anyone who is interested in knowing elevation information as well as physical landscape.
