Having issues creating routes that aren't quite out and back

When I create a route everything seems to work fine, unless I am traveling on the same roads that I have been on before during that same route. Double-clicking then just pulls up a series of circles that highlight my whole route to that point. It does not continue to measure my route. If I am creating a route on new roads, there are no issues. This only seems to happen when I am creating a route that uses some of the same roads to come back on that I used to go out... I have experienced this issue on Windows (IE11, Chrome 35), Linux (Firefox 17) and Mac (Safari and Firefox - sorry I don't have the versions at my fingertips.) Help... Jim
